Those of us who look at Obama as a radical leftist first, African American second, may have trouble believing it, but not everyone sees it that way.

The left is, if nothing else, rife with internal racism.  They see everything as divided and compartmentalized.  To them white, black, Asian, Hispanic, and Native American aren’t just labels, they’re unflinching lifestyle definitions.  Dems pay a mountain of lip service to the idea that they spend their days fighting racists but, in their heart of hearts, they see such divisions more starkly than anyone.

So, during last night’s State Of The Union speech, it must have been a great relief for Chris Matthews who, for a few minutes, managed to forget that Obama was black.

Chris, the rest of us have been looking at this guy, without thinking about his race, for a long time now.  We judge him based on his policies and his actions.  It’s nice that, at least for “an hour,” you were able to join us.

Or were you?

I mean, as you say say you were watching and “said wait a minute, he’s an African American guy in front of a bunch of other white people.”  So, I guess you really didn’t manage to forget he was black after all, did you?

nerds

Back in the 70’s, as the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons swept the nation, parents became uneasy.  Rumors about the game’s alleged devil-worship connections began to spread, and soon we were bombarded with urban legends about kids climbing into the sewers to act out their fantasies – never to return again.  It looks like the intrigue never stops, as Wisconsin’s Waupun Correctional Institution has banned the game, angering convicted murderer, Kevin T. Singer.

Now, lest you think the prison is trampling on its inmate’s constitutionally protected right to worship satan, you should be aware that the reason for the ban is somewhat different.  It seems that prisoners have been forming violent gangs based around the game and their fictional alter-egos.  In addition, the prison cited the game’s themes of “competitive hostility, violence, addictive escape behaviors, and possible gambling” as destabilizing forces in an already tense atmosphere.

As a result Kevin T. Singer had his dice, rulebook, monster guide, and even his own personal scenarios, confiscated as contraband.  Faced with a lifetime encarceration that featured neither dungeons nor dragons, he pulled out his +1 law books and headed to court.

Unfortunately, Singer’s hopes were dashed as the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals launched a magic missle of derission at his case.  “Punishment,” they said, “is a fundamental aspect of imprisonment.”

So now, the murderous nerd sits in his own personal dungeon, alone with his thoughts and the knowledge that he lacked the necessary charisma points to spare his favorite game.  The injustice is staggering.

Someone call the ACLU.

Three months ago, Newsday became one of the nation’s first daily papers to charge people for online content.  The pricetag for access to the notoriously left-biased daily? $5 a week, or $260 a year.

Last week, publisher Terry Jimenez  revealed that, After 90 days, the publication has amassed a whopping thirty-five subscribers.

Here are some facts to put that in perspective:

  • The famous Tsavo Lions ate 35 people in 1898.
  • Last June, 40 People (5 more than subscribe to Newsday) were injured on a water ride in Indiana.
  • 35 is one third the number of drunken students arrested at a New London, NH House Party Last November.
  • Volvo & Mercedes make Party Buses that would seat all 35 subscribers with room for another 5, should anyone ever sign up.
  • If you wanted to feed deli sandwiches to each of Newsday’s online subscribers, you’d need approximately five and a half pounds of meat, and three loaves of bread.
  • In 2008, 35 students in Malaysia were given the option of changing schools after experiencing hysteria due to their haunted classroom.
  • Newsday has one online subscriber for each of the 35 virtues ascribed to the Virgin Mary by Albertus Magnus.
  • Newsday’s subscribers would only fill the shoes of half the people involved in this 70-person mass sky diving world record.

I suppose the real story here is not how few people have signed up for Newsday, but the fact that they’ve actually found 35 people willing to pay for their propaganda rag.  We’re sure they’re proud of their numbers, and are thrilled that they’re being so widely reported.

P.S. – The headline?  Well, that’s a joke only a few people will get, but trust me, they’ll think it’s damn funny.

Check out my newest op-ed over at The Daily Caller.  It deals with the fact that, since Democrats are refusing to learn from Brown’s Massachusetts win, Republicans had better.

God help them if their momentum continues, and they don’t see the lessons inherent in the Massachusetts election.

The math regarding non-existent statistics can get difficult, especially when you’re trying to calculate an impossible figure like the number of jobs “created or saved.”  Since there’s absolutely no legitimate way to track this, things are bound to confusing.  So, thank God we have White House staff members to sort it out for us.

Appearing on three different Sunday morning news shows, the Obama administration top dogs set the record straight.  Well, three different records, actually.

On CNN’s State of the Union, David Axlerod claimed that more than 2 million jobs had been “Created or saved.”

Valerie Jarrett presented a more down to Earth number on NBC’s Meet The Press, claiming that the administration had “created or saved” a non-specific ”thousands and thousands of jobs.”  Most of these, she claimed, were firemen and teachers.

Fortunately, Robert Gibbs showed up on Fox News Sunday and offered a hard number to set them both straight.   “As a result of the recovery plan,” Gibbs said, the President  ”saved or created 1.5 Million jobs.”

Yes, when you’re dealing with a completely invented, not-real, made up statistic, it’s tough to just how overwhelmingly successful you’ve been.  Still, you’d think they could send a memo around and get their story straight.  I guess it really doesn’t matter, since none of it can be proven anyway.

Why, I estimate that, by simply writing this blog, I myself have ”created or saved” approximately 1.2 bajillion employment opportunities.

You’re welcome.

England has raised it’s terror threat level to “severe,” at least in part to an increased number of people from the no-fly list showing up at London’s Heathrow Airport.  The new level of danger means that an attack is “highly likely.”   As a result, airport security has been beefed up and now includes pat-downs at the boarding gate, as well as the usual metal detectors, etc.

A few days before raising the alert level, banned passengers from Saudi Arabia and Egypt were stopped as they tried to board planes.  Both of them were headed for the U.S., to Miami and Chicago respectively.

The pair were part of a recent uptick in no-fly passengers trying to board planes in Europe.

Home Sales Plummet In December

house-for-sale

Despite the administration’s assurances that things are getting better, home sales plummeted last month.  According to the The National Association of Realtors, they dropped 16.7 percent – the largest  fall in over 40 years.

This seems odd to me.  Considering that the Obama administration has has “created or saved” roughly one bajillion jobs, you’d expect this number to be headed in the other direction.

It must just be a fluke, since Obama has told us the recession is over, so even lagging indicators should now be turning around.

Surely, next month will be better.  If this trend continues, it could make the President look bad.  We can’t have that, now can we?

Obama

Apparently, the President is terrified of the notion that he might speak before a group of sixth graders without his beloved teleprompter.  Last week, he hauled the technological wonder to a classroom at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va.  It was set up, and the speech went off without a hitch.

If only Dan Quayle had such a device, it might have helped him spell potato.

I know that if I were faced with a group of curious 11-year-olds, I wouldn’t dare speak to them without a machine to keep me on point.

I mean, the questions they’d ask would likely be togher than anything coming from NBC news, so I’d need some kind of coach, right?

Apparently, not even the enormous head of Keith Olbermann could contain all of the anguish, depression, and desperation that Scott Brown’s victory has delivered.

Normally, Olbermann takes his meds and they keep his hatred at a manageable level.  The other night, though, he snapped….

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Already, Olbermann has been forced to apologize for the “curling iron” comment which even he couldn’t deny was patently bogus, but he’s doubled down on everything else.

As a result, he was taken to task by multiple right-wingers, like….um…  John Stewart?

Well done, Mr. Stewart, and congratulations to Olbermann, for finally letting all that hatred shine through.  It was quite a sight to behold.

And, as always, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that the ringleader of those “southern racists” he mentions was Senator Robert Byrd.  Apparently Olbermann, who finds Brown racist, has no problem with the fact that the senior Democrat in the Senate is a former “Exalted Cyclops” in the Ku Klux Klan.  Way to be consistent, Keith.

Brown Wins Massachusetts – RUINS EVERYTHING!

obamachu

By now, you’ve heard the news. I mean, who are we kidding?  If you’re reading this site, you were probably up late last night, watching the Democrats twitch as their nightmare scenario played out, and the apoplectic fits set in.

Brown won.  Coakley lost.  Democrats  are trying their damndest to blame Coakley, but it’s just not sticking.  No matter how hard they try to deny it, the message has been sent.  This election was all about Barack Obama.

Yesterday, I wrote a piece for the Daily Caller in which I laid out the two possible left-wing paths after this election.  In it, I said that a Brown win would only serve to enrage the left, who would be incensed that the great unwashed had dared to turn against them.  They would double down on their agenda, ignore the blatant mandate provided by Massachusetts, and grow their already impressive arrogance to epic proportions.

nuclear-mushroom-cloud1

Last night, before the votes were even counted, they were proving me right.

Obama announced that he will press,  ”full speed ahead,” for health care.  Pelosi said that Health care is coming, “one way or another,” and David Axlerod told the Politico that he thinks “it would a terrible mistake to walk away now. If we don’t pass the bill, all we have is the stigma of a caricature that was put on it. That would be the worst result for everybody who has supported this bill.”

So, they’re going to ignore the will of the American people, circle the wagons, and press on.  The only thing that changed yesterday was internal.  A Republican win in the bluest of the blue states has made it clear, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the DNC is walking off a cliff.

To be sure, there’s leverage in that knowledge.  Republicans are no longer 100% at the will of their rivals who, behind closed doors, must be quaking in their boots.  Still, the Dems will have a powerful majority, at least until November.  While Brown’s victory proves that every seat is in play, the Democrats have shown, time and again, that they’re more than willing to sacrifice their political lives to “rebuild America from its foundation.”

So, for now, enjoy the celebration.   Congratulations to Scott Brown and to the voters in Massachusetts.  Just know that it’s message sent, message received, message ignored.
As soon as they regroup, the Democrat plan will be to do as much damage before they self-destruct in the November elections.  With this battle won, the fight continues.
